The application period for the 2020 Carrboro Music Festival has closed.
The Carrboro Music Festival is a "play for free" showcase for Triangle-based musicians to celebrate music in our community. Attempts are made to strike a balance between our returning festival performers and first-timers. Please be aware that previous participation does not guarantee you a spot. We cannot accommodate everyone who applies to play.
Application Process Applications received after the deadline will be placed on a waiting list. CDs, digital audio files, or website samples are required from anyone who has not previously played the Carrboro Music Festival. Musicians are encouraged to bring merchandise to their performance, however, they are completely responsible for their sales.
A large percentage of the venues, both indoor and outdoor, have sound systems and sound techs. The exceptions are a handful of small venues (with solo or duo performers) where the musicians run their own sound, either with their own sound systems or with those provided by the Festival.
Applicants who are selected will be contacted by late August or early September when scheduling is typically finalized. Please be aware that spots in this year’s event may be more limited than in previous years due to the reduced size and scope of the festival as a result of COVID-19.
